My son requested a magic party this year, and we came to the conclusion that going to a magic show would be the most magical! After doing a quick google search, we found the fun Outta Control Magical Dinner Show at WonderWorks Orlando. The dinner was provided, my house would remain clean, and entertainment would be sublime. This party would give me much more free time than a typical Nikki party; however, I wanted to bring the WOW factor. The details below will show you how we elevated this party and made it unique.

The Cake and Food
Mommy brought her magic to this party with this gravity defying cake! Any guesses how the cards and wand stand up by themselves? I will let you in on my secret. Copper tubing goes all the way through the cake and through the bottom of my cake board (make sure to spray your copper with Edible Glaze so that it’s food safe)! Since copper is so pliable, you can bend it the way you’d like, and place the fondant pieces on top of the copper. I flattened the copper before I added the cards. When I created the wand, I kept it round and wrapped it in fondant. For further instruction on gravity defying cakes, please reference this top-notch Bluprint class here.
We choose to make my son’s favorite chocolate and raspberry cake. The chocolate cake comes from my one of my all-time best cook books called Baked. Make sure to also check out the Baked baking class here if you need help with cake construction.
Don’t attempt to play a game with these cards! These are playing cards made with edible images placed on Rice Krispie treats. Below the edible image is a Rice Krispie treat covered with frosting to make the image stick. These images were also used for the cards in the cake. You can find these edible images here on Etsy.
The Outta Control Magic Comedy Show provided unlimited salad, pizza, soft drinks, and wine and beer!
The Entertainment
We had the pleasure of watching Jimmy Rook who WOWED us with his magical talents! WonderWorks handled the food, the entertainment, and the fun for this party. We loved our experience at WonderWorks!
Even little brother was happy with the magic show!
Our birthday boy with the magician. He felt so special to be able to be a part of the show and received a special certificate at the end of the show.
Our son loves putting on a show as well. We gave him an early birthday present which included this magic set with an instructional dvd so that he could show off his magic tricks at the party.
The Favors
After this magical evening, we knew all the kids would want to take home some magic. These fun magical wands can be found on Amazon here along with the playing cards. Attach the cards with the goodies to the wand by using these goodie bags and white ribbon.
