Oooooohhhhhhh, Monday!!! It’s the beginning of another week, and I’m getting back in the swing of my work as a blogger after a fun-filled weekend. In the middle of my social media marketing, a notification arrived from Lysa Humildad, Sagebrush Farm, NV blog. Much to my surprise, I read that exciting news that I have been selected for a Blogger Recognition Award! I felt so honored that Lysa would think of Food Flowers and Festivities, especially considering I’ve only launched two months ago!

The Blogger Recognition Award is an award given to hard-working bloggers by other bloggers. Yes, blogging is much more than just posting informative content. At the speed of light, you must become knowledgeable about photography, social media marketing, writing, WordPress, and so much more! Here I thought I was just a creator who wanted to make cakes, fab parties and garden!
Although the blogging process represents intensive work, the blogging community is so welcoming and helpful to new bloggers! Lysa is no exception to this embracing community, and she helps, supports, and mentors countless others who blog. I certainly share Lysa’s passion for food and the outdoors, and I hope to get to learn from her along with her blog, in the future. Thank you for this generous recognition, Lysa! Please check out Lysa’s wonderful blog and the blogs (including me) she awarded the Blogger Recognition awards to here.
Requirements for accepting the award
In order to accept the award, we must be willing to do a few things.
- Create a post (like this one) to thank and mention the person who selected us.
- Tell the story behind the creation of our blog/website.
- Give two pieces of advice to new or would-be bloggers.
- Select 15 other Bloggers for the award.
- Comment on each website to let them know that they’ve been selected.
Why I started Food, Flowers, and Festivities
I was feeling the pull to return to work and do something creative in my life; however, I was not ready to commit to a full-time job. I wanted to participate in activities with my young sons, pick them up from school, and pursue a healthy lifestyle diet and activities. I loved being with my kids, but I also wanted a creative activity to engage my mind and satisfy my creative needs. Many of my hobbies fulfill my life, and I was eager to share that passion with others. The blog had been in my mind for some time, and many other blogs propelled me to take the leap. The bloggers that I chose are either newly discovered blogs or blogs that inspired me to start blogging.
My two pieces of advice for new bloggers
First, figure out what you are the most passionate about and begin writing about it. If you’re exhilarated about what you blog, your excitement will transfer to your readers. If you are authentically engaged and passionate, you will be able to maintain your interest in your particular blogging niche for years to come.
Do not settle for merely adequate work when it comes to creating elements on your blog. In a competitive blogging world, you need to stand apart from the rest; make certain your blog is your absolute best work! I started with one template and platform for my blog and was not 100% satisfied, so I scrapped it and started over. It was a lot more work to remake it, but in the end I was happier with the website. When I write a new blog post, I have my two best proofreaders comb through it to look for typos and mistakes. You only get one chance to make a good first impression.
