The Ultimate Toy Story Party

The Ultimate Toy Story Party

Ask me about my favorite party, and I’ll probably tell you it’s the one on which I’m currently working.  That being said, I believe this Toy Story Party might be in the top spot in my list of parties!  We found so many creative things you can do with the adorable Toy Story characters!  Don’t you just love the work of the imaginative creators of Pixar?  Please… don’t feel like you have to do all of these ideas (that would be crazy, right??).  We hope you take away some fun ideas you can incorporate into your own party.

How to use your Cricut to make gorgeous Christmas Envelopes and cards

Each year we strive to create a unique and elegant Christmas card.  We were pleased with our cards but a little embarrassed about how the envelopes looked (confession- my handwriting is not that stellar).  We would admire those rare envelopes that displayed handwritten calligraphy.  How could we get those stunning envelopes without hiring a calligrapher?  Recently, I figured out a way to replicate the look of handwritten calligraphy with my Cricut Explore Air 2!!  You do not have to stop with your envelopes; I will show you how to make lovely Christmas cards too.

Kitchen Cheat Sheet Printables!

Creating food masterpieces in the kitchen is such a gratifying hobby.  It’s so engaging that I get annoyed when I have to leave the kitchen to look up a fact or conversion.  I needed to sit down and write a cheat sheet for all the facts and conversions for which I’m constantly looking.  Hurray! It’s finally here– five different cheat sheets that we find most helpful in our household.  I am excited to share the information I have learned as personal chef, caterer, and bakery owner to help you in the kitchen and for your next party.

Sweet Potatoes casserole with homemade marshmallow topping

Sweet Potatoes casserole with homemade marshmallow topping

Would you like to elevate the sweet potato dish that we all know and love to new levels?  We see a lot of more traditional versions this time of the year–you know the one I’m talking about with the sweet potatoes and marshmallows on top, right?  I had an epiphany!  I could make the marshmallow fluff on top and pipe it in a way to look like a gorgeous meringue topping.  You have several options with this dish like leaving off the marshmallow fluff, buying marshmallow fluff, piping on the marshmallow fluff or simply spreading it on creating nice peaks.

DIY Lemonade Stand For Your Kids

We grow a serious amount of citrus in the Lam household.  During both lemon and lime season, we’re continually scratching our heads to determine how we can use up all our citrus.  My son is a budding entrepreneur;  we thought it would be fitting to squeeze all the lemon juice and build a lemonade stand for him!

Super Mario Bros Birthday Party

Super Mario Bros Birthday Party

What theme, what theme, what theme?  When contemplating which theme to have for my son’s 8th birthday party, we thought of many different options. My son proposed Captain Underpants.  After I explained to my son that mommy goes WAY too far into a theme to have a Captain Underpants party, we ultimately decided on Mario.  Evan and his dad like to play Mario games so the theme seemed appropriate.  Evan and Daddy helped me with all the Mario questions, and when it was said and done, we picked well!

How to make a citrus flower arrangement for your home

How to make a citrus flower arrangement for your home

It’s lime season at the Lam household which means lots of lime-aide, freshly squeezed lime to enhance our food, and yes, even limes in my flower arrangements!  We have an AMAZING cocktail tree in the backyard.  This tree has grafts of many citrus fruits in a single tree so you do not get a huge amount of each citrus when the season arrives.  We get Meyer lemons, grapefruits, limes, and mandarin oranges all in one tree! Cool, right?  If you live in a zone where you can grow citrus, I highly recommend this tree (I would say zone 7 or lower).  Now for the flower arrangement; you could create this arrangement with Meyer lemons, fruits that are a little more cold hardy (would do ok in zone 8).
