Barn Birthday Party

Oink Moo Cock-a-doodle-doo!  Little Wesley is turning 2!  Where do you have a birthday party for a special little boy who loves farm animals?  A real farm of course!!  We found the sweetest farm, Horsepower Ranch that hosted parties.  This farm was complete with horses, chickens, deer, and more!

The Invitation

These fun barn invitations were made with our Cricut Explore Air 2.  Cricut has a lot of barn images in their design space from which can choose from.  If you have the Cricut Design Space, you can download images, projects, and fonts immediately to your computer.  Before the party, our family took Wesley to the farm and took pictures of him in the stables.

The Color Scheme

We decided to go with brick red and cornflower blue along with a gingham pattern for this party.  We loved the farm printable you can get from Etsy here that we used for this party.

The Flowers

We purchased all the sunflowers in the greater metro area to dress our farm tables.  Old milk jars were used as vases for bright yellow flowers that decorated the tables.

The Cake

These farm animals were crafted out of fondant, and we appreciated the assistance we found from Craftsy.  Craftsy has a ton of cake decorating classes like this these that will teach you how to make these figures.  My son loved farm animals, especially cows, so we wanted them to be present at the party!

The Food

This sugar spun wool is actually gourmet cotton candy that comes from Sky Candy.  We love all the unique flavors of cotton candy that Sky Candy offers.  We found the lovable labels for the cotton candy on Etsy here.
These goodies were a kid-friendly version of corn on the cob.  Snack baggies were filled with kettle corn and encased in green tissue paper “husks.”


We’re always looking for inspiration for parties, and one day we found it at a friend’s birthday party.  My friend served What’s Simon Smok’n.  Simon is an award-winning bbq pit master, and the food was so yummy that we promised ourselves to use his services in the future.  Simon made the meats for this party, and we purchased sides from 4 Rivers Smokehouse.
A simple pink cup becomes a piggy nose thanks to nostrils added with a Sharpie!


The Decorations

An advantage of this venue is that they have decorations like hay bales and saddles!  We purchased the stick horse on Amazon (there is a link at the bottom).


A number of the balloons had printed cow print.  We added animal faces to the remaining balloons.

The Entertainment

We filled all white eggs with treats and then hid them.  We told the kids that they had to find eggs the chickens laid.  The kids used berry baskets to collect their chicken eggs.

The kids loved meeting the animals on the farm!

A barn-shaped pinata was filled with goodies for the guests.

The Favors

Guests geared up like a cowboy or cowgirl and took pictures on the horse below.
